Leslie Goetsch is the director of the Northern Virginia Writing Project and an instructor in the Composition program.

Leslie Goetsch has taught literature and writing to middle school, high school, undergraduate, and graduate students over the course of her teaching career. She earned her BA in English from Duke University, a Masters in Liberal Arts from Johns Hopkins University, and a Masters in Fine Arts (fiction) from George Mason University. Most recently she has served as a lecturer in the College of Education at Towson University,, teaching an advanced writing course and co-directing the Maryland Writing Project. Leslie has been involved with the Maryland Writing Project for forty years, directing the Student Writers Workshop and the Teacher Summer Institute, as well as participating in and presenting at the National Writing Project Annual meeting.
