In the summer of 2020, the popular Young Writers Summer Camp will be held in partnership with the Workhouse Arts Center.  We will offer four two-week, half-day sessions at the Workhouse, which will provide space and administrative help.  

Sessions offered include:

Session A: June 22–July 3 

Session B: July 6–July 17

Session C: July 20– July 31

Session D: August 3–August 14

 

Sessions for young writers entering 7-8 grade are scheduled for the morning session, 9:00-12:30.

Do you love to write?  Would you like to be a part of a writers’ community? The Northern Virginia Writing Project’s Young Writers Summer Camp is NOT the Language Arts class you’re used to.  Come to the Workhouse this summer and you will have the chance to write creatively in a variety of genre, learn about new genre through mini-lessons prepared by the NVWP Teacher-Consultants, and receive response to your work from NVWP Teacher-Consultants, who are writers themselves! You’ll also get to choose what you want to write about and how you want to write about it, in a workshop environment where you’ll enjoy dedicated writing time and build a true community of writers in a larger community of artists while learning about publishing opportunities!

Half Day Sessions A, B, C, D

AM Session: 9am–12:30pm for grades 7-8


Tuition: $475

Location: W-9

 

Sessions for Young Writers entering grades 9-12 are scheduled for the afternoon session:  1:30-5:00.
