NVWP Teacher Writing Institute
February 12, 2024, 9:56 AM to April 22, 2024, 9:56 AM EST
The Teacher Writing Institute is a virtual, noncredit version of the Summer Institute, created to give teachers more opportunities to engage in the study and practice of writing instruction. The 6-module, asynchronous course offers selected readings on teaching writing effectively, the chance to be a writer in a peer writing group, and the opportunity to design a professional development presentation on an element of effective writing instruction that can be shared with colleagues. Completing the course will enable participants to become a part of the larger National Writing Project community, as a Teacher Consultant. The cost of participating in this program is much less than tuition fees. Classes will meet every other week 4:30-7:30, February 12-April 22.
For more information, please email Leslie Goetsch, Director of the Nothern Virginia Writing Project: lgoetsch@gmu.edu. Registration and fees payments can be made through the NVWP Mason Marketplace store.
